BOTTLE FEEDING YOUR BABY
Mum's who bottle feed their baby should bear the following safety tips in mind ...
Choose your baby bottles carefully as plastic bottles can leak chemicals in to your babies milk. We will be featuring glass baby bottles soon.

Different brands of formula milk have different tastes so make sure your baby likes it before you buy a big supply.

Hygiene is very important as babies are susceptible to germs. Make sure you wash your hands before preparing the feeds and all of the bottles and equipment must be sterilized.

Follow the instructions of the formula carefully as the amounts are important to give your baby a balanced diet.

Use boiled cooled water to make the feeds but do not use re boiled water.

Keep formula milk which is made up in the fridge and check the product instructions for details of the maximum length of time the formula can be kept once it has been made up.

If your baby doesn't drink all of the milk from a bottle do not keep it, throw it away.

Preparation time is a huge down side and can be a drag if you are tired but it's important to take care making up the feeds and to follow the instructions carefully.

Bottle teats can get worn and harbour germs so make sure you check them for splits or scratches.

Babies can not have cows milk until they are a year old. Cows milk is made up of just the right ingredients for calves but babies need different things.
